Empowering Candidates

Developing Leaders is a political action committee (PAC) created by members of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. As some of our members have seen across the country, people of color face uphill challenges raising enough capital to make successful runs for political office at all levels of government (local, state, and federal). Serious, driven candidates who would otherwise succeed in helping their communities are forced out of their race due to a lack of publicity and/or visibility. Their message is drowned out in a pandemonium of others, lucky to be heard at all. This is where Developing Leaders PAC bridges the gap between these potentially successful candidates and victory for their communities. The primary goal is to generate contributions for people of color seeking elected office in local, state, and federal elections.

Empowering the Public

Often times, voters become disillusioned with the political process for any number of reasons, such as when voters support a candidate only to watch that elected representative not fulfill their campaign promises. This results in the voting bloc becoming disheartened with the political process and left with the feeling the system doesn’t work for them.

By keeping in contact with the offices of political leaders, holding rallies, and town halls, Developing Leaders PAC ensures these elected officials are held accountable to their constituents after they reach public office.
